Learn easily how RACE works
System boot process with RACE
RACE core is like a DOS-based system. Its startup creates a sequence of events to initialize the system and load the operating system.
Player press a physical button in the game which will power the first components of the computer
The BIOS will start a Power-On-Self-Test (POST). In real life computers, it checks if the essential components of the computer work fine. In RACE, the POST checks if the library scripts and modules are all loaded and working fine.
The BIOS loads the boot loader, located in the RACE File tree. It gets important system files such as CONFIG.SYS, IO.SYS and MSDOS.SYS. These files provide system information
Content of MSDOS.SYS - provides system configuration
DEFINE NEUROX
SET WinDir = 'C:\WINDOWS'
SET WinBootDir = 'C:\WINDOWS'
SET HostWinBootDrv = 'C'The Neurox Interpretor will read & execute important Neurox scripts. Note that whatever the executable or script file extension is, Neurox code must be there.
Finally AUTOEXEC.BAT is executed and launches the operating system.
